What’s the difference?

Securing the extra reach swimming pool grab rail with anchors makes for a sturdier set up with the rails connected firmly into the pool side.  It may not always be possible to install anchors leaving the flange installation version as the alternative; this means the rails are effectively held in place by 6 screws per rail.  When the choice is available the manufacturers recommend the “anchor version” grab rails.  Don’t forget to tick the box if you’re going for anchors.
